McKie Campbell has been a hot-tar roofer, a scuba instructor, a police officer, and an investigator for a sheriff’s department. He lived in Alaska for thirty years and traveled extensively throughout the state, where he worked for the legislature, was Deputy Chief-of-Staff for the Governor, and the Commissioner of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. In Washington D.C., Campbell was the Staff Director of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee.
He is on the Board of ConservAmerica and was a Visiting Fellow at the Energy Policy Center of the University of Chicago. He’s also an avid pickup basketball player and an active outdoorsman and sailor, having sailed across the Atlantic and won the Spirit of Adventure - Around Admiralty distance race more times than anyone else.
McKie is pronounced with a long i to rhyme with McRye or McSky.
